Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Vale in the 9th minute of play. Pabla Zuniga kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Rodolfo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodolfo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. TAQUARI FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Rodolfo Salgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Wilton Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. TAQUARI FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rodolfo Salgado. Joel Gaona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. A throw-in in the 56th minute of the game was made by Macos Graciani with Joel Gaona as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 66th minute, Frank Lampard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. TAQUARI FC's Erasmo Gaspar was substituted for Ernani Souto. TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save TAQUARI FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, TAQUARI FC's Rodolfo Salgado got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. The nice shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 83rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Rodolfo Salgado had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 88th minute Wilton Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodolfo Salgado made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than TAQUARI FC throughout the match.
