A well-hit corner resulted in Donato Galvão heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Martini having to interfere. In the 32nd minute of the game, Joachim De Jonghe landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Manchester United FC made a substitution. Willian Falcão replaced Joachim De Jonghe. After a rather tough play, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Manfred Rudqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Simão de Toledo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, Willian Falcão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Bruno Martini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 88th minute. In the 91st match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Manchester United FC had won after a very even match.
