Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 苏梁泉 in the 15th minute of play. 苏梁泉 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Anthony Lenci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. When Jonathan Venegas fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jonathan Venegas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute Anthony Lenci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Lenci came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
