But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Su Peng Jian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of the match. Kent Stenman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Kent Stenman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 24th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Pierre-Emile Højbjerg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Su Peng Jian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Su Peng Jian came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Su Peng Jian in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 75 minutes, Vitaliy van der Aa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GrassNuts FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitaliy van der Aa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GrassNuts FC's Cosimo Staniscia was substituted for Vitaliy van der Aa. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cosimo Staniscia came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cosimo Staniscia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. The supporters of Ecuador booed when GrassNuts FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Magnusson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GrassNuts FC throughout the match.
