Vicente Berto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maximiliano Escribano went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 15th minute of play forced Real Ayuntamiento CF's goalkeeper Vicente Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Vinicio Lopes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Basilio Erramun in the 23rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Real Ayuntamiento CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Lobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 minutes, Basilio Erramun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Ayuntamiento CF and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Real Ayuntamiento CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Erramun didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Francisco Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Berto was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 0-2 became the score in the 32nd minute when Maximiliano Escribano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Jaime Cazalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Cazalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Berto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vicente Berto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Real Ayuntamiento CF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla to fire away a dangerous shot which Vicente Berto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 40 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. 47 minutes into the match, Real Ayuntamiento CF's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Vicente Berto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vinicio Lopes made a kick off. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Vicente Berto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basilio Erramun got a throw-in 53 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Federico Lobo. Vicente Berto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Uruguay's Francisco Seco was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 64th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Vicente Berto made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Berto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 72nd minute of the match. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Real Ayuntamiento CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Alberto Gisbert got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vicente Berto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vicente Berto was a little too slow when Alberto Gisbert got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-4. Real Ayuntamiento CF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Jaime Cazalla scored to the left of an out of position Vicente Berto, making the score, 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Vicente Berto in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vicente Berto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Vicente Berto in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uruguay's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
