Luisão Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Aparecido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Fielzão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 23rd minute of play forced Fielzão's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Aparecido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Fielzão's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Carlos Eduardo Aparecido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Tafalla in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Eduardo Aparecido saved Fielzão from getting behind. Fielzão's Carlos Eduardo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 28th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Arvid Treiner could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Luca Rouco kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos in the 34th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Augusto Vasconcelos scored 2-0 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fielzão's Ciro de Alcântara was substituted for Afonsinho Zonta. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Facundo Cadaval took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Carlos Eduardo Aparecido to make any attempt to save it. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 72nd minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Aparecido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 72nd minute of play. Fielzão's Alfredo Trigo was substituted for Luisão Leal. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arvid Treiner ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mexico played a much better game than Fielzão and deserved their victory. The Fielzão players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
