Cervantes F.C.'s Fausto Kemen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto Kemen saved Cervantes F.C. from getting behind. In the 45th minute of the match, Shen Guo Yu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 46 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shen Guo Yu made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Kemen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shen Guo Yu in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Cervantes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alens Berķis to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Kemen made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Alens Berķis kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Cervantes F.C. made a substitution. Edelmiro Fe replaced Anastasio Berriotxoa. Cervantes F.C.'s Cosme Benvide was substituted for Apolo Mincho. In the 70th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto Kemen. Fausto Kemen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Kemen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cervantes F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fausto Kemen quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Fausto Kemen in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
