Ingmar Wiman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 38thth minute of the game Ingmar Wiman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nickolai Skivild kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A hard, long distance shot from Luis Andino flew over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingmar Wiman was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Deportivo Empate's Kristoffer Martinsson got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Felix Montenegro sped through Deportivo Empate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kristoffer Martinsson. Ingmar Wiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
