Dorel Balaur showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Lilian Vântu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stanley Wallace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Barrett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florin Vrednic in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Mavian UFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Davies came free, but Tudor Pânzaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorin Tâmbalari during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Mavian UFC got a freekick which was hit by Petru Gonta. Stanley Wallace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Tudor Pânzaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Barrett was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Dan Stângã capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dan Stângã really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florin Vrednic was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Troy Kennedy got a free kick in the 54th minute. Mavian UFC's Lilian Vântu got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Stanley Wallace managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanley Wallace was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Pânzaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stanley Wallace sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Barrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florin Vrednic's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Troy Kennedy hit a great ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Curacao's goalkeeper Bruno Barrett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dan Stângã came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Mavian UFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Stângã couldn't finish the play. Dorel Balaur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
