Leonardo Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Hector Covarrubias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leonardo Moreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Primitivo Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Primitivo Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Capivariano F.C. defense, Jaime Pardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonardo Moreira. The Capivariano F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonardo Moreira should have stopped the shot. Jaime Pardo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Moreira having to make a save. Leonardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Zoido in the 37th minute of play. Leonardo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcinho Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Batista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leonardo Moreira. Leonardo Moreira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 54th minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonardo Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 65th minute. A hard shot 68 in the game by Jaime Pardo from a close distance when the talented Leonardo Moreira managed to make a qualified save. Capivariano F.C.'s players were relieved. Leonardo Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Leonardo Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Primitivo Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Paraguay left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Capivariano F.C..
