OLYMPIACOS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernabe Normando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ovidio Oto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santos Lazcano got free with Valdemar de Moraes in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santos Lazcano in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdemar de Moraes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Santos Lazcano got free in front of the goal in the 14th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Valdemar de Moraes was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santos Lazcano got free with Valdemar de Moraes in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eusebio Cayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar de Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusebio Cayo ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of OLYMPIACOS FC booed when Bene Animatus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dieguinho Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Haroldo Etxahun sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdemar de Moraes skillfully saved the ball. Ovidio Oto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ulisses Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulisses Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ulisses Damião hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Valdemar de Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santos Lazcano in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Bene Animatus got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Damião. Nildo Rezende hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Santos Lazcano came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the OLYMPIACOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santos Lazcano couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lúcio Guimarães during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Bene Animatus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Haroldo Etxahun in the 34th minute really tested Valdemar de Moraes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Santos Lazcano had several of the Bene Animatus's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 35 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Valdemar de Moraes as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 39th minute, OLYMPIACOS FC's Santos Lazcano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When Nildo Rezende fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bene Animatus's protests and gave Nildo Rezende a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bene Animatus's Nildo Rezende got a free kick in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santos Lazcano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Eusebio Cayo made a precise shot to the right of Valdemar de Moraes. Bene Animatus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Lazcano in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar de Moraes saved Bene Animatus from getting behind. Valdemar de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Brais in the 66th minute of the match. Nildo Rezende's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 72ndth minute, Ovidio Oto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 79 minutes into the game, Florencio Jacob was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OLYMPIACOS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bene Animatus the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Lazcano in the 83rd minute of play forced Bene Animatus's goalkeeper Valdemar de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bene Animatus's Valdemar de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Lazcano in the 85th minute of play. Santos Lazcano took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar de Moraes. Valdemar de Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. After 90 minutes, Elpidio Brais mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OLYMPIACOS FC and the Bene Animatus players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94thth minute of the game Santos Lazcano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bene Animatus's Valdemar de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bene Animatus's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
