Fabio Cannavaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pars Sururi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 10th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agah Çeliktaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Agah Çeliktaş tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in ஐ ▓▒ ≮Ҝằ§ŧîиGs ≯™ ▒▓ ஐ's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agah Çeliktaş came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Agah Çeliktaş, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agah Çeliktaş. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Pars Sururi scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cenap İlbilge's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Pars Sururi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ஐ ▓▒ ≮Ҝằ§ŧîиGs ≯™ ▒▓ ஐ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. ஐ ▓▒ ≮Ҝằ§ŧîиGs ≯™ ▒▓ ஐ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Cenap İlbilge blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Felix Montenegro in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Agah Çeliktaş, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. ஐ ▓▒ ≮Ҝằ§ŧîиGs ≯™ ▒▓ ஐ's Agah Çeliktaş proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save ஐ ▓▒ ≮Ҝằ§ŧîиGs ≯™ ▒▓ ஐ from getting a goal against them. Agah Çeliktaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cenap İlbilge in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Pars Sururi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ecuador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
