In the 34th minute, Lautaro Mancebo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tobías Quilempan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 45 played minutes Club Deportes La Serena got a freekick which was hit by Hans Hadders. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ermegildo Fazzini made a kick off. When Soso Cheishvili came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Club Deportes La Serena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Soso Cheishvili couldn't finish the play. Tobías Quilempan made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 58th minute Salvatore Bunster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tobías Quilempan. That made the score 0-4 after 60 minutes of play. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Deportes La Serena's Tobías Quilempan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 75th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tobías Quilempan. That made the score 1-6 in the 95 minute of play.
