Sven-Arne Eklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bennis's Sven-Arne Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Arne Eklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Bennis's defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Hector Covarrubias scored to the left of an out of position Sven-Arne Eklund, making the score, 0-4. A hard shot 56 in the game by Jaime Pardo from a close distance when the talented Sven-Arne Eklund managed to make a qualified save. Bennis's players were relieved. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jaime Pardo in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sven-Arne Eklund, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 75th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Primitivo Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Bennis's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Sven-Arne Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Ivan Prats in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bennis's Arne Ahlqvist. Sven-Arne Eklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Sven-Arne Eklund made a huge save. Paraguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
