The crowd rose to their feet as Bandelocos's Luiz Guilherme Varela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. Luiz Guilherme Varela struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bandelocos. Nilson do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ezequiel Velasco during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Bandelocos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Velasco to maneuver through the defense. Nilson do Vale came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Luiz Guilherme Varela sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th play minute Luiz Guilherme Varela came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilson do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54thth minute of the game Rafael Sobis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Luiz Guilherme Varela notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 70 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goalkeeper Nilson do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. 73 minutes into the match, Luiz Guilherme Varela notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilson do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Nilson do Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
