Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sergiu Coșeriu kicked off to start the match. After having played for 11 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Olimpiu Dichiseanu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Olimpiu Dichiseanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Academia Rio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Sergiu Coșeriu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Nicolae Hizo got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 32 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gigel Tilea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Olimpiu Dichiseanu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. 37 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Coșeriu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Sergiu Coșeriu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Sergiu Coșeriu had several of the Venezuela's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 40 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Jonathan Ferrant as he didn't even see the shot coming. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergiu Coșeriu in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Gigel Tilea made a huge save. In the 58th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergiu Coșeriu in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergiu Coșeriu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Sergiu Coșeriu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 65th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Sergiu Coșeriu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nicolae Hizo came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Academia Rio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolae Hizo couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Dichiseanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergiu Coșeriu in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. 87 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Gigel Tilea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Gigel Tilea made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Sergiu Coșeriu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Olimpiu Dichiseanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
