Javier García showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Thomas Tsatsaronakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 12 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. O.T.E's Javier García played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 16th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando Rivera's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, Thrasivoulos Stamatis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, O.T.E's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Javier García reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier García saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Rivera in the 28th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alekos Roubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Javier García. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Rivera made a kick off. After 51 played minutes O.T.E got a freekick which was hit by Thrasivoulos Stamatis. 52 minutes into the game, Lakis Kazantzakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. O.T.E's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 53rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Rivera, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier García read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, O.T.E's goalkeeper Javier García had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After 64 minutes O.T.E's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Javier García narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Javier García tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Rivera in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, O.T.E was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iosif Glossopoulos to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Javier García but with some difficulty. Javier García showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Javier García came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 77th minute. If Orlando Rivera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alekos Roubakis in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Orlando Rivera came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the O.T.E fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Rivera couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than O.T.E throughout the match.
