With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Puchlik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, AS Monaco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Jan Puchlik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
