Fermin Dolfo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fermin Dolfo got free with Julio Vera in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Basri İhtiyar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Yalapa's Basri İhtiyar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 28th minute of play forced Yalapa's goalkeeper Basri İhtiyar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermin Dolfo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yalapa were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olaf Gall took the corner. Cristo Izel was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Camilo Gisbert made in the 38th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Luis Andino. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fermin Dolfo in the 43rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Fermin Dolfo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 2-0. Fermin Dolfo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basri İhtiyar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Diego Armando Junior had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Armando Junior was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Basri İhtiyar. Yalapa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Leonardo Nogueira hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Nogueira in the 86th minute of the match. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The Yalapa players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
