In the 5th minute Ernesto Belarmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Teo Honesto in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Belarmo in the 14th minute of play. Per-Oskar Walroth's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Rolando Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 21st minute, Milagros Fraga made a precise shot to the right of Lukács Bánhegyi. Hungarian Olympic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lukács Bánhegyi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of play forced Hungarian Olympic's goalkeeper Lukács Bánhegyi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukács Bánhegyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lukács Bánhegyi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes Hungarian Olympic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Peru's Emmanuel Reyes to fire away a dangerous shot which Lukács Bánhegyi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 36th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukács Bánhegyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Bandell kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lukács Bánhegyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Belarmo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rolando Noboa came out and tried to block the shot, but Ernesto Belarmo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Teo Honesto, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Per-Oskar Walroth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Lukács Bánhegyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lukács Bánhegyi made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute Hungarian Olympic were awarded a corner. Béla Demeter went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, Peru's Efraim Gilabert got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Lukács Bánhegyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 82 minutes of play, Hungarian Olympic's Miladin Kirichev made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. 88 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lukács Bánhegyi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 90th minute, Eliseo Mina fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Peru players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hungarian Olympic.
