After taking down the ball on S O B E R A N O CIMZ's corner Thomas Kielland fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marco Day quite easily take care of the ball. 18 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer de Queirós came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Fran Guerola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, USA's Edward Mcdonald got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer de Queirós in the 26th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fran Guerola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of S O B E R A N O CIMZ booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koby Fletcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leif-Eric St. Juste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Battal Gazi Bey made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to S O B E R A N O CIMZ getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Patrick Vaz hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cassius Byrne in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fran Guerola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fran Guerola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 61st minute of the match. Åke Kilman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. S O B E R A N O CIMZ made a substitution. Gildo Pontes replaced Christiano Amaral. In the 69th minute Dito Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute Sam Campbell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fran Guerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The S O B E R A N O CIMZ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
