Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dinamo Soimu's August Kungla got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Dinamo Soimu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Horia Poplăcean quite easily take care of the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horia Poplăcean having to interfere. Horia Poplăcean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. A collision led to Dinamo Soimu getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Virgil Pintilie hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Horia Poplăcean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Horia Poplăcean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Ecuador's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after August Kungla fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horia Poplăcean narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dinamo Soimu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Ferdinand Ipate tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute Xanti Gatnau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Dinamo Soimu's goalkeeper Horia Poplăcean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho.
