Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivo de Sousa to make the kick off. Ernesto Padro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo de Sousa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Padro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 76th minute. Sebastian Quinto kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match.
