The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gitano Abad kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Prats came free, but Stéphane Brault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 19th minute of play forced Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's goalkeeper Stéphane Brault to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Domingo Abadie got a free kick in the 21st minute. 28 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stéphane Brault. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Stéphane Brault tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stéphane Brault showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stéphane Brault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Peru booed when Pepsi Fuchibol Clu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Abadie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 65th minute of the game Emmanuel Reyes made a throw-in which Milagros Fraga played forward. Stéphane Brault made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 70th minute of play. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 79th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Milagros Fraga immediately put the ball in play. Gitano Abad charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gitano Abad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Pepsi Fuchibol Clu got a freekick which was hit by Gitano Abad. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 84th match minute, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gitano Abad to maneuver through the defense. Stéphane Brault took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
