Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laureano Vergaray's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. A collision led to Adrogue FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ramiro Funes Mori hit a great ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Adrogue FC's goalkeeper Franco Armani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Franco Armani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Laureano Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Vergaray in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Laureano Vergaray recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Laureano Vergaray showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 31st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Vergaray got free with Julio Vera in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Laureano Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Laureano Vergaray could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Laureano Vergaray's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Franco Armani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 40 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. In the 41st of the match, Juan Pablo Angel tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Julio Vera got in the way and made a wonderful save. Laureano Vergaray struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Adrogue FC. In the 46th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franco Armani was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Adrogue FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

Franco Armani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Laureano Vergaray stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Laureano Vergaray tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laureano Vergaray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Vergaray came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laureano Vergaray might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laureano Vergaray ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Franco Armani in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 78 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Franco Armani managed to make a qualified save. Adrogue FC's players were relieved. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Franco Armani when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Franco Armani in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Laureano Vergaray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
