If Laureano Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Vergaray got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the match, Adrogue FC's Laureano Vergaray sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fidel Aznaro hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 31 minutes in the game Camilo Gaos did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Illescas. In the 35th minute Laureano Vergaray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Adrogue FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Laureano Vergaray got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laureano Vergaray made a kick off. After 54 played minutes Adrogue FC got a freekick which was hit by Juan Pablo Angel. In the 56th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Adrogue FC got a freekick which was hit by Juan Pablo Angel. 68 minutes into the match, Laureano Vergaray notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 70 minutes, Juan Pablo Angel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Adrogue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Pablo Angel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Laureano Vergaray made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Laureano Vergaray put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laureano Vergaray went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Pablo Angel, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Adrogue FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Franco Armani despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With splendid footwork Joshua Secada arrived in front of goal to shoot 7-1 by the left pole in the game's 88th minute. Laureano Vergaray's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Adrogue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Abalos to maneuver through the defense. There was no doubt that Adrogue FC were the better team. Adrogue FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
