Aris Zanteroglou didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Periklis Pagopoulos sent off a good shot on target. Aris Zanteroglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Aris Zanteroglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aris Zanteroglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose F.C.'s Aris Zanteroglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 17th minute of play. After 18 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aris Zanteroglou was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Jose F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Periklis Pagopoulos in the 32nd minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aris Zanteroglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris in the 43rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Ntinos Kaliakatsos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After 54 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ntinos Kaliakatsos came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Jose F.C.'s goalkeeper Aris Zanteroglou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Jose F.C.'s Aris Zanteroglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 63rd minute of play. Jose F.C.'s Aris Zanteroglou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Jose F.C. from getting a goal against them. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jose F.C.'s Aris Zanteroglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aris Zanteroglou. The goal made the score 2-3. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
