Gregor Kobel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Nino Schurter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Espen Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Cazalla came free, but Gregor Kobel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes, Colombia's Antonio Indiano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gregor Kobel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colombia reached it. Gregor Kobel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santino Seco went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Espen Steelers's Gregor Kobel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 39th minute of play. With his leg Pedro Manzanares managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Espen Steelers's Alain Berset fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes in the game Marco Odermatt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Stan Wawrinka. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 57th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gregor Kobel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez was substituted for Alain Berset. In the 66th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Kobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Espen Steelers's Roman Beljean was substituted for Alberto Giacometti. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Espen Steelers's goalie and right to Luis Cazalla. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Espen Steelers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Paul Klee hit a great ball. Stan Wawrinka kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Espen Steelers's zone, Luis Cazalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregor Kobel came out of the goal and Luis Cazalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gregor Kobel made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Santino Seco sent off a good shot on target. Gregor Kobel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Espen Steelers.
