The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Azzurri FC's Malcom Payton got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 8 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. When Kendrick Schumacher came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Azzurri FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kendrick Schumacher couldn't finish the play. In the 11th match minute, Azzurri FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bert Vincent to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Hando Festini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hando Festini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Jules Barrett got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute of play forced Azzurri FC's goalkeeper Hando Festini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Azzurri FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcom Payton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azzurri FC's Jules Barrett got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
