Jesús Caminero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesús Caminero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Phil Mills fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argen-Taino's protests and gave Phil Mills a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when Argen-Taino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Mills didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesús Caminero made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes in the game, Lautaro Mancebo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jesús Caminero having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Argen-Taino's goalkeeper Jesús Caminero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. After 61 minutes, Felix Luque mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mexico and the Argen-Taino players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 72 minutes Argen-Taino's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jesús Caminero quite easily take care of the ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Jesús Caminero in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Joel Gaona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jesús Caminero. That made the score 1-2 after 89 minutes of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesús Caminero having to interfere.
