Tião Donatello started the match with the kick off. Reginaldo Veiga made in the 4th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. After 8 played minutes Flinston FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Veiga. A collision led to Flinston FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Tomas Herruz hit a great ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogerio Fontarigo having to make a save. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogerio Fontarigo having to interfere. When Reginaldo Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flinston FC - DMZ's protests and gave Reginaldo Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute, Reginaldo Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 44th minute of play forced Flinston FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Rogerio Fontarigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Tomas Herruz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot.

After 53 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. Tomas Herruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Flinston FC - DMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Tomas Illescas shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Bengt-Åke Bergqvist made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Tião Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Herruz in the 69th minute of play. During the 80th minute of the match Reginaldo Veiga completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Reginaldo Veiga a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 80 played minutes Flinston FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Veiga. In the 83rd minute Tomas Herruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tião Donatello took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Flinston FC - DMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
