Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 6th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Salvatore Gandarillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Academia Juvenil Wenumapu booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Barahona in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Saúl Cortés came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Saúl Cortés showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Lautaro Barahona put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After a rather tough play, Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's Eulalio Schele got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Carlos Saúl Cortés showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Carlos Saúl Cortés tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Carlos Saúl Cortés in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Saúl Cortés read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Carlos Saúl Cortés in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Saúl Cortés narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 minutes Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Luis Andino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlos Saúl Cortés quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carlos Saúl Cortés showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Luis Andino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 74 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Saúl Cortés, 1-3. After a rather tough play, Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's Timeteo Rondizzoni got a free kick in the 78th minute. Carlos Saúl Cortés made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Barahona came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes Academia Juvenil Wenumapu got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Barahona. After some careless play in the Academia Juvenil Wenumapu defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Saúl Cortés. The Academia Juvenil Wenumapu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Saúl Cortés should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play forced Academia Juvenil Wenumapu's goalkeeper Carlos Saúl Cortés to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Saúl Cortés showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 89th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Academia Juvenil Wenumapu.
