Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 9th minute of the match. After 15 played minutes Sociedad Anónima got a freekick which was hit by Niva Bruna. Sociedad Anónima's Gianluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sociedad Anónima's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Luca Zorita was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velasco Rollan in the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Sociedad Anónima defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gianluigi Buffon. The Sociedad Anónima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gianluigi Buffon should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Gianluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sociedad Anónima's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 52nd minute, Alberto Tafalla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gianluigi Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 54 minutes into the match, Velasco Rollan notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 62 minutes in the game, fortunately Gianluigi Buffon had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Gianluigi Buffon made a huge save. Gianluigi Buffon made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Luca Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Velasco Rollan in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Gianluigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 73rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Gianluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velasco Rollan in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute Felix Larren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
