Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Sixto Nesto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sixto Nesto really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The audience was convinced that Santino Seco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Montez was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 25th minute, Sixto Nesto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucio Quieto's goalkeeper Genaro Montez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sixto Nesto. After having played for 37 minutes, Abram Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abram Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Lucio Quieto's goalie and right to Santino Seco. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Lucio Quieto's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Genaro Montez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Genaro Montez made a huge save. 52 minutes into the match, Lucio Quieto's goalkeeper Genaro Montez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. 59 minutes into the game, Lucio Quieto's Sixto Nesto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Colombia's attentive Antonio Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Paolo Maldini made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Genaro Montez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 66th minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Gaitano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Nesto came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lucio Quieto's Sixto Nesto. But to his dismay, Sixto Nesto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Abram Secada took a quick shot and it went in 6-1 without a chance for Genaro Montez to make any attempt to save it. In the 85th minute Lucio Quieto were awarded a corner. Paolo Maldini went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Paolo Maldini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares did a great save. In the 88th minute, Abram Secada reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Genaro Montez. The goal made the score 6-2. After having played for 95 minutes, Abram Secada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abram Secada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lucio Quieto.
