In the 13th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Vigil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santos Vigil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of the match. Fernan Gurutz struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frisia AFC. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Gurutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Melchor Esiquio was slow to take the kick. During this time Frisia AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Frisia AFC's Ricardo Endura to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santos Vigil saved Frisia AFC from getting behind. Melchor Esiquio kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luciano Sadurni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Melchor Esiquio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Melchor Esiquio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Luciano Sadurni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Endura in the 57th minute of play. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Santos Vigil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Godfredo Efraim came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Frisia AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Luciano Sadurni fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Frisia AFC's protests and gave Luciano Sadurni a yellow card for diving instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Frisia AFC.
