Vassilis Bogdanos kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Güralp Uğurtan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Güralp Uğurtan was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Güralp Uğurtan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 39th minute of the match. After 40 minutes Kolopetinitsa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guillermo Mariano got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Costa during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Jose Correa made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tomas Illescas however managed to control. In the 56th minute, Vassilis Bogdanos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Güralp Uğurtan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of play. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kolopetinitsa's goalie prevented a goal. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Kolopetinitsa's Christodoulos Kolevas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jose Correa in the 84 minute of the game. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Güralp Uğurtan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Lambros Karpodinis in the 96th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
