Valdir Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar de Amaral in the 14th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléber Borges in the 16th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Grêmio 20 Julho's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valdemar de Amaral, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 17th minute Valdemar de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sylwester Zarobski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Valdemar de Amaral received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Valdemar de Amaral slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Valdir Cavalcante might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdir Cavalcante ran back to his position shaking his head. Valdir Cavalcante took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 31st minute Valdemar de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Grêmio 20 Julho getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ma Xi Kang hit a great ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylwester Zarobski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Valdemar de Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sylwester Zarobski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdemar de Amaral in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. After 86 minutes of play, Grêmio 20 Julho's Valdemar de Amaral made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Grêmio 20 Julho had won after a very even match.
