Billy Jacquemet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 20th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angel Mena in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Micael Caicedo got free with Thiago Pliego in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chile were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after West Town SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. The corner ended in Francisco Carballar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but West Town SC's Billy Jacquemet did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Micael Caicedo in the 35th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Angel Mena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Micael Caicedo in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. After 45 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Douglas Costa who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Douglas Costa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Frutos Rojas kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
