Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grabiel Escorcia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Nacional made a substitution. Ursino Brunet replaced Luciano Inverso. After a rather tough play, Nacional's Marta Minuhin got a free kick in the 75th minute. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 78th minute of the match. Juaneizu Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 79th minute of play. Xu Sha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thiago Pliego. Chile's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Gayoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Pedro Indiano hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Gayoso came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ursino Brunet went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 92nd minute of play. Chile's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
