Régis de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Régis de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. In the 25th minute Pedro Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Kauan Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Azevedo to make the kick off. If André Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 65th minute, Fala Sério FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kauan Santos in the 68th minute of the match. Fala Sério FC's Wanderson Lopez was substituted for Kauan Santos. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fala Sério FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Afonsinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Afonsinho Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Afonsinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Afonsinho Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Azevedo in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Pernambucano in the 93rd minute of play.
