Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, La Fenix's Arnoldo Cambiasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. La Fenix were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eloy Truylos took the corner. La Fenix's Eloy Truylos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Arnoldo Cambiasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnoldo Cambiasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Patricio Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Patricio Hernandez sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute. Eliseo Tolino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Cesar Lonzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Arnoldo Cambiasso took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. In the 30th minute, Arnoldo Cambiasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Tolino having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 41st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita spun around in front of the goal 43 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of La Fenix's goal. Eliseo Tolino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnoldo Cambiasso to make the kick off. The supporters of La Fenix booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 66th minute of the match Patricio Hernandez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Patricio Hernandez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, La Fenix's Patricio Hernandez got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play forced La Fenix's goalkeeper Eliseo Tolino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseo Tolino made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Arnoldo Cambiasso kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, La Fenix's Arnoldo Cambiasso got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita came free and shot a quick shot against goal 78 minutes in the game, fortunately Eliseo Tolino had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Eliseo Tolino made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Eliseo Tolino. La Fenix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. La Fenix made a substitution. Ruperto Panpili replaced Cesar Lonzo. La Fenix's Leo Nuxila was substituted for Arnoldo Cambiasso. Eliseo Tolino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Tolino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
