Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dieguinho Marinho started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Cazalla made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas managed to reach the ball for a save. Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 15th minute of play. Mattias Casillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Jano Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 20th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Dieguinho Marinho sent off a good shot on target. Jano Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Corinthians Paulista defense, Maximiliano Escribano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mattias Casillas. The Corinthians Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattias Casillas should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute, Gernando Lima fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Dieguinho Marinho sent off a good shot on target. Dieguinho Marinho scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Corinthians Paulista's Kléber Valle got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st match minute, Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Cazalla was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. Maximiliano Escribanos short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Mattias Casillas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 53 minutes into the game, Jano Schmidt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians Paulista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Corinthians Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jano Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 56th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mattias Casillas but with some difficulty. Jaime Cazalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattias Casillas came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Francisco Seco. But to his dismay, Francisco Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 67th minute, Jano Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Cazalla shot from long distance after 68 played minutes, a shot that Mattias Casillas with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mattias Casillas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Vito Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. After 89 minutes, Paulo Renato Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians Paulista and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Paulo Renato Trancoso hit a great ball. In the 95th match minute, Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gernando Lima to maneuver through the defense.
