Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mattias Casillas. Mattias Casillas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 10th match minute, Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mattias Casillas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Patricio Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mattias Casillas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dieguinho Marinho got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dieguinho Marinho was slow to take the kick. During this time Corinthians Paulista's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Dieguinho Marinho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dieguinho Marinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieguinho Marinho in the 57th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 66 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vito Cardoso in the 72nd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mattias Casillas. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. The audience was convinced that Dieguinho Marinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mattias Casillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Corinthians Paulista getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vito Cardoso hit a great ball. If Gernando Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 played minutes Corinthians Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Trancoso. After a defensive mix-up in Corinthians Paulista's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Casillas came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho Marinho in the 94th minute of play. If Vito Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Corinthians Paulista supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for Venezuela.
