Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edvard Võsandi in the 22nd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Les Tigres got a freekick which was hit by Edvard Võsandi. 28 minutes into the match, USA's Monty Rogers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gonzo Maradona narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzo Maradona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Les Tigres's Rodolfo Luken was substituted for Silvano Ihazintu. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Tipi was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Estevez in the 52nd minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Les Tigres got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Severino Estevez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Severino Estevez made a great header on Les Tigres's corner, it was just that USA's Marco Day managed to reach the ball for a save. Les Tigres's Gonzo Maradona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Monty Rogers in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gonzo Maradona prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gonzo Maradona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. In the 69th minute of the match USA got a corner. Les Tigres's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Monty Rogers ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Monty Rogers almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Les Tigres's Gonzo Maradona did a great save. A collision led to Les Tigres getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Grzegorz Sokolski hit a great ball. A nice corner shot did that Severino Estevez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Khalid Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzo Maradona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khalid Parry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khalid Parry in the 96th minute of play forced Les Tigres's goalkeeper Gonzo Maradona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Les Tigres support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
