The TaTeRo Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Carlos Mendonça should have stopped the shot. TaTeRo Boys's Zé Carlos Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the TaTeRo Boys defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Carlos Mendonça. The TaTeRo Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Carlos Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Zé Carlos Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. Davi Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Carlos Mendonça made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davi Nunes was the one to do the kick off. Zé Carlos Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. If Davi Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the match, TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Zé Carlos Mendonça in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the TaTeRo Boys defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Carlos Mendonça. The TaTeRo Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Carlos Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Zé Carlos Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Carlos Mendonça having to make a save. In the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Carlos Mendonça was a little too slow when Agustín Saelices got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-9. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Zé Carlos Mendonça made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zé Carlos Mendonça. That made the score 0-10 after 90 minutes of play. In the 94th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than TaTeRo Boys and deserved their victory. The TaTeRo Boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
