The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of A.A. Francana's Renan Melo. Renan Melo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 5th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Renan Melo. A.A. Francana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliott Bergsten in the 8th minute of play. Renan Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Charlie Boström got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-2. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that A.A. Francana's Renan Melo managed to reach the ball for a save. Charlie Boström struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.A. Francana. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Charlie Boström in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 26 minutes into the match, A.A. Francana's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Renan Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliott Bergsten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charlie Boström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Francisco Secco who took care of the corner kick. The corner led A.A. Francana's Francisco Secco to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 45th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Secco in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charlie Boström was the one to do the kick off. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Camilo Gisbert had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of A.A. Francana:s goal. Julio Vera had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Francisco Secco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 78thth minute of the game Charlie Boström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When A.A. Francana's Charlie Boström in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of A.A. Francana booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 minutes of play, A.A. Francana's Charlie Boström made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Boström in the 97th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because A.A. Francana had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
