The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Prudencio Gonchan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Prudencio Gonchan was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 31st minute of play forced Piuke's goalkeeper Prudencio Gonchan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes, Tomas Illescas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Piuke players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 33rd minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Eloy Steven tried to sneak it across the goal line. Froilan Guzman struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piuke. Jonathan Ferrant had great luck who in the 48thth minute grab hold of the ball when Froilan Guzman from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Froilan Guzman to make the kick off. Prudencio Gonchan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 69th minute of play forced Piuke's goalkeeper Prudencio Gonchan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Guzman in the 76th minute of play. If Eloy Steven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 played minutes Piuke got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Ihazintu. Venezuela's Alex Chicote managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jeremias Cordarrel in the 84 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Froilan Guzman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piuke's supporters rose to their feet, but Froilan Guzman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Froilan Guzman went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Piuke booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Jeremias Cordarrel in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert.
