Panama's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 72 minutes, Ricardo Clis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yalapa and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Everardo Sal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Clis in the 93rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 minutes, Miguel Miralles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Yalapa players grew even worse after the yellow card.
