Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epigonoi Kouches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Adan Rafel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, bicho colorado's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Epigonoi Kouches, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Adan Rafel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adan Rafel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Adan Rafel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epigonoi Kouches, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adan Rafel saved bicho colorado from getting behind. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Diego Rotondi made the kick off in the second half. Celedonio Omero hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Rotondi in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adan Rafel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. If Diego Rotondi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adan Rafel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 75th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Diego Rotondi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Diego Rotondi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd match minute, bicho colorado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Rotondi to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adan Rafel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91stth minute of the game Diego Rotondi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Amancio Gora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adan Rafel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Zorita. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than bicho colorado throughout the match.
