In the 11th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dedé Correia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Dedé Correia notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jorge Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 24th minute of play forced Garopaba F.C's goalkeeper Orlando da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wambasther Özil who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Wambasther Özil almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Dedé Correia took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. Orlando da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Dedé Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlando da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Dante Jerano made in the 53rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dedé Correia however managed to control. Cauan dos Santos's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cauan dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. Cauan dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orlando da Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Orlando da Cunha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Garopaba F.C's Orlando da Cunha got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Garopaba F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yanne Van Meerbeeck to maneuver through the defense. Garopaba F.C made a substitution. Rogelio Urtungo replaced Dedé Correia. A collision led to Garopaba F.C getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Yanne Van Meerbeeck hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marconi Galvan during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Peru booed when Garopaba F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marconi Galvan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 80th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Peru's Anthony Alvarado got a free kick in the 81st minute. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Dante Jerano made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. In the 90th minute, Rafael Gallo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Peru's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Garopaba F.C had won, even though Peru had held more of the ball.
